Take 'Em With You

Real talk—children can be HARD sometimes.
But if we’re honest, we all are difficult to deal with sometimes, right?! I'm sure if you ask my husband, he'll tell you I'm a real pill at times! It's life!
Us humans are going to have hard days regardless of where we are. Sometimes we're overwhelmed by the world or the things going on around us. Sometimes we just didn't sleep good. Sometimes, we're just hungry. Or sometimes, we're just flat out being obstinate.
But that doesn't mean that we can't try and make some memories in the midst of the hard.
I look at my toddler and my baby and I realize that they can be a lot of work! But there are totally ways to help make taking care of them a little easier—like when you get them outside!
Some might argue that taking them outside is actually more work. But that's only if you over complicate it! The basics take about the same amount of work regardless of where you are.
Plus, if your toddler is anything like mine, there are a ton of melts down if something happens to nap time (it's too short, skipped, or even too long) and we’re stuck inside. But take her outside and all is right in the world, despite being tired.
So, for us, we camp, even though she and the baby are still so little. We got outside and explore our acre or just our back garden. We change scenery.
In my toddler's 2 shorts years, she has camped at least 10 times and is basically a professional now. And her baby sister is well on her way to being a camping pro, too! They both thrive outdoors regardless of where the outdoors are.
And, yes, it’s work to take them, but it’s work to stay home too! Seeing their glee in the great outdoors is totally worth any “extra” work they might take!
