Sunday Sabbaths

Sundays are family days if we can help it! The day is spent intentionally slower. We are careful how and with whom we spend our day. We try to disconnect a bit more, spend time outside together, and just rest before the crazy week we undoubtably will have-all inspired because of God's great goodness for mankind.

In Genesis, we learn that God created humans on Day 6, then immediately, He gave us a day to rest. We aren't resting from something but instead for something. We are meant to spend that time remembering the goodness of God so we can enter our week glorifying him.
So, on a perfect Sunday, we'll start at church. Unfortunately, this year we have spent more time sick than our family ever has, so we have spent this season watching church services online more than in person while we try to improve our immune systems! This season is hard without the community of believers but knowing we can join from a far gives some peace while being away.
After church, we come home to nap the babies, have some lunch, and start our rest. We spend the rest of the day just hanging out, intentionally living slowly in anticipation of the week to come.
I intentionally stay off social media when we're all together and even have no alerts on my phone. If you message me, I don't see it until I actually look for messages. Our days are relaxed and spent with each other. The girls play, l often read to myself of aloud to the kids. We hang around each other without an agenda. Shawn might tinker around or catch up on his interests.
We usually end up outside, walking around, playing, or listening to music together. Our Sundays bring us peace and a nice reset before heading back in to the crazy of our weekly lives!
What do your Sunday's look like?
