Feminism Is a Lie

Feminism isn’t actually for women. Society tells us it is, that the purpose was to improve the lives of women everywhere. But it did nothing but create a massive divide and a hierarchy of what women should be or not be.

It split women up and made us all believe that the only women who had opinions that mattered where the ones who refused to follow traditional roles—married late or not at all, put work above family, and demanded “equality” with their husbands or other men. If a woman decided that she wanted to follow traditional roles, she was brainwashed or being abused or maybe even both!

No longer were women championing women but instead judging each other for the choices they made, especially if those choices included children and families—and more so if she decided that her desire would be to stay home with her family and raise her own kids.

Why do I know this? Because it happened to me when I left my career. Many women I know assumed that I was forced or brainwashed into that decision. The comments I got were insane and many people assumed that this was something temporary—that I would go back when the girls were older. No one could believe that I would make these choices willingly and from a place of deepest desire.

Leaving my job was something I had wanted m for years and it was always part of the plan for our life. I wanted to be home with my girls. I wanted to pour into them and be a full-time mom. The ironic thing is that I was never fully sure that this was something that we could make happen in today’s society. So, I choose teaching because under society’s standards for women, it meant I could still spend a lot of time with them while still “being independent.” Ironic right? Even I was brainwashed.

Now, I’m grateful for the changes God made in my life and that he put it on my husband’s heart to work so hard so I could be home with the girls. I see how fortunate I am every single day to be in a safe marriage that makes this possible and grieve that the feminist ideas that are seeped in our society kept me from being home from the start. I missed so much, but at least from here on out, I get to have a front row seat!
